December 8, 2011: Fire Station 1 (Eastern Hill) temporarily closed due to a diesel leak in the building November 17, 2011: New Fire Station 30 (Templestowe) is commissioned. October 21, 2011: Rosenbauer Pumper enters trial service as Pumper 44. October 5, 2011: Training begins for the Rosenbauer Pumper trial appliance at Fire Station 44 (Sunshine). August 21, 2011: Today marks 20 years since the Coode Island fire. May 17, 2011: Car 165 up for auction at Manheim. April 13, 2011: Car 160 & Car 164 enter service as Decon 38 & Transporter 44. Featured article The Keys Road Factory Fire started shortly before 9:00 AM on April 18, 2006 in the Select-O-Pedic Bedding factory in Keys Road, Moorabbin. The fire was escalated to seventh alarm and caused an estimated $30,000,000 damage, making it the biggest fire since the Brooklyn Meatworks Fire 2001 in 2001. Read more...
